Portsmouth’s first Bella Italia- Kids Eat Free!! header image

CIAO PORTSMOUTH – BELLA IS SAILING TO TOWN!

A taste of Italy is sailing into Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays with the opening of Portsmouth’s first Bella Italia. Officially opening on Wednesday, 25 May, on the Gunwharf Quays waterfront at the foot of Spinnaker Tower, Bella Portsmouth stretches over two floors has stunning terraces on both levels, for those wanting to dine al fresco - ideal to watch the sunset with a glass of fabulous Bottega Prosecco or a colourful cocktail – all in time for summer!

Over £700,000 has been invested in the new restaurant, which will create 25 new jobs and bring authentic Italian dining to Portsmouth locals and visitors alike 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bella thrives on bringing a genuine taste of Italy to its customers, with many ingredients sourced from family run businesses across Italy which have been produced the same way for generations. From the oldest pasta maker in Italy ‘Agnesi’ to the Northern style cured and baked meats from the ‘Fontana’ family to the Southern style cured meats and salami from ‘San Vincenzo’, which bring that true Italian flavour and the Bella trademark Limoncello, which comes from ‘Dolce Cilento’ based in the heart of Cilento National Park near Amalfi coast.

Launched in April, their new menu is better than ever, and some of the hero dishes include a richer and creamier Carbonara made with fresh tagliatelle, topped with leeks and crispy pancetta, a new Lasagne, made fresh in-house every day, and new Roma pizzas: inspired by Roman pizzas, these are made with a touch of sourdough and are hand stretched further for a thinner and crispier base.

To mark this opening, Bella has teamed up with their nationally sponsored charity Dreams Come True and together 12 dare-devils will be abseiling the Spinnaker Tower on Friday 27 May to raise funds to for the charity. The day promises excitement for the whole family, with cartoon characters entertaining crowds from early afternoon, competitions to meet Boy and Girl Minion and Super Mario and a late afternoon performance from YouTube star Sapphire (https://www.youtube.com/user/444jet) with a lucky bunch to win exclusive time with the rising star and perhaps even the chance to sing along together.
Head down to Gunwharf Quays on Friday 27 May from 12 noon, support Bella in their attempt to raise over £5,000 for Dreams Come True charity and enjoy the fantastic, entertaining day out with your family and friends.
