Set in 50 acres of Norfolk countryside, Banham Zoological Gardens, run by the Zoological Society of East Anglia is a conservation hub for endangered species of animals from around the world. Including the Amur Tiger, Red Panda, Grevy’s Zebra, and Black-Footed Penguin. Through conservation, education, and the active involvement of our communities, we are sparking a lifelong interest in people of all ages, to help us protect the rich diversity of our precious world, for all our futures. The Glade
Grab a coffee, cold drink, or a tasty snack here. An all-day menu of locally sourced food.
Parkside Pizza Restaurant
Located in the heart of the gardens and close to the Adventure Play Area, the newly refurbished Parkside Pizza is the perfect place to stop off for a morning coffee or lunch! Serves delicious hand-stretched, stonebaked pizzas, seasonal salads and a selection of locally sourced beers, wines and lemonades. Speak to our staff about gluten free and vegan options. We also have a children’s menu.
Snack Shacks
In addition to Parkside Pizza and The Glade, snack shacks are located around the zoo where you can buy hot paninis, snacks, drinks and a selection of Walls ice creams whilst on route.
Pavillion Cafe
If you prefer a full meal, Pavillion Cafe offers a great selection of hot and cold dishes, including wonderful salads and desserts. Because Banham Zoological Gardens is an inclusive place, Pavillion Cafe can accommodate special dietary needs, you just need to communicate with a member of the team.

What age groups is Banham Zoological Gardens suitable for?
Banham Zoological Gardens welcomes people of all ages. While some of the activities have age limits, there are plenty of spaces to visit and fun things to do for every member of the family.
Are there any indoor activities when raining?
Yes. Banham Zoological Gardens offers a range of indoor activities for rainy days. It has a marvelous indoor play area, and a brilliant area of domestic animals for children and grownups to enjoy.
When is the best time to visit?
Banham Zoological Gardens is open from 9:30 to 5:30 (with last admissions at 4:30), year-round. The busiest days at the park are weekends, so if you are able to book your visit during a weekday, you’ll surely have a quieter experience.
What should you take with you?
It is advisable to bring sensible, flat shoes and sunscreen on warmer days.

Set in the heart of Norfolk, Banham Zoological Gardens is surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline to explore. For more family days out, why not consider the Bressingham Steam and Gardens museum to discover this exciting aspect of British transport heritage. And en route to Banham Zoological Gardens, stop off and pet the small herd of Trelawn Alpacas! This area offers a great experience for families and small groups.
