Diggerland Kent opened in April 2000 and was the UK's first digger-inspired theme park. It was a runaway success in its first year and since then three more Diggerlands have opened elsewhere in the UK.
To this day, Diggerland Kent remains a hugely popular destination for family days out. There are more than 20 rides and driving experiences to enjoy, including family-friendly attractions like the Sky Shuttle, which is powered by a JCB 540-170. For older guests in search of bigger thrills, there's the super fast Spindizzy ride.
Aside from the rides, there are plenty of other attractions to enjoy. Younger guests can explore Diggerland's two-storey indoor soft play area, which features a ball pit, bouncy castle and arcade games. Visitors aged 0-5 will also enjoy the Little Tikes Wheelz Play Zones outdoor play area.
Unlike other UK theme parks, Diggerland provides guests with a more hands-on experience, giving them the chance to actually drive and operate the machines on many of the rides. Because of this, it's a good idea to ensure you're sensibly dressed when you visit. Robust footwear, such as trainers, boots or wellies, are recommended.
There is a cafe on site, but guests are also welcome to bring their own food to the park, as there is a designated outdoor picnic area.
Diggerland Kent is located in Strood, and is near Medway Valley retail park. It's easy to reach by both car and public transport. You can find out more about how to plan your journey here.
