Children’s play

The park isn’t just about room-spinning rides, with an abundance of play areas for children and parents to enjoy. With three large Outdoor Play areas, there is a potential to entertain for hours as children can slip through slides, crawl up climbing walls and wander through string walkways.

What indoor attractions do they have?

If you or your little ones are more accustomed to the indoors, or the day hits a rainy spell, then Lightwater Valley has various options for indoor activities. Head over to the brand-new soft play centre, Ebor’s Soft Play, and let your little ones run, jump and bounce around until their heart’s content! The three-storey high indoor attractions for kids includes a whole host of adventure for little ones to enjoy. After enjoying the Soft Play, you can wander through our Hall of Mirrors and erupt into a fit of giggles as the mirrors stretch, squash and shrink your reflection! The entertainment is endless in our room of distortions. It’s then time to test your skills and have fun on our fantastic arcade machines. Can you get your score to the top of the arcade leader boards? Will you win a prize from the grabbers?

After a long day of exhilaration, the whole family will have worked up quite an appetite! Lightwater Valley Theme Park has an array of food stalls to fill those hungry tummies! Whether you want pizza or paninis, hot dogs or candyfloss, you can have a satisfying meal or a tantalizing treat. Picnics are also welcome on-site if you would prefer!

What should you take with you and why?

A raincoat or poncho may be useful for water rides, or if the weather takes a soggy turn. Any other essentials that you need can be brought with you, however, travelling light is usually the best option to fully enjoy the experience freely!

When is the best time to visit?

Lightwater Valley Theme Park is open every weekend from Spring through until Autum, and is open daily during schools’ holidays including Easter, May Half Term, Summer and October Half Term . The theme park is closed during the winter months. Do note that opening times may vary and it’s best to view the website to keep up to date.

What else can you do in the area?

A few miles down the road from this theme park is the quaint cathedral town of Ripon which you and the family can wander around. Fountains Abbey is only a twenty-minute drive from Lightwater Valley. These monastic ruins and gardens are absolutely beautiful for anyone to appreciate. The nearby main A-road, the A1M, can also take you to some gorgeous locations such as Harrogate, Knaresborough and York.
